Water Restrictions
This section contains details and updates on the latest water restrictions in Harden Shire.
Harden Shire Council is currently on Level 1 Water Restrictions. The restrictions are as follows:
• Garden watering – total per day of 2 hours from 1 tap at a time, this may include sprinkler use, the watering of lawns is discouraged.
• Swimming Pools (Private) – topping up of pools is allowed from the garden watering allocation, pool owners are
encouraged to use pool blankets during non swimming times.
• Wash Paved Areas and Roof – only buckets are to be used, except as required by law.
• Public Gardens – sprinklers may be used to a maximum of 2 hours per day.
• Sports Grounds – sprinklers may be used to a maximum of 2 hours per day.
• Market gardens and Orchards – sprinklers can be used for 4 hours per day.
• Nurseries and Commercial Flower Gardens – sprinklers can be used for up to 4 hours per day.
• Washing Motor Vehicles – no restrictions.
• Bowling Greens – sprinklers may be used to a maximum of 2 hours per day.
• Fountains – no restrictions.
• Water Cartage from Town Supply – with Council licence only – contact the Engineering Department of Council if you require water to be carted.
• Automatic flush toilets – no restrictions.
• Ready Mixed Concrete and other industrial pursuits – no restrictions.
These restrictions will be enforced across Harden Shire to every household, rural or residential, that utilises the town water supply.
