The Kruger Health and Wellness Complex
The Health Centre is progressing quickly with the building work now complete and the internal fit out well underway. The Landscaping and work on the car park has begun. The centre, due for completion in August, is named in honour of the late Dr Geoffrey Kruger, the town’s long-serving dentist who left a substantial amount of money to the local community when he died in 1996, to be used for health and educational purposes. The G O Kruger Trust, which administers the fund, contributed $2.4 million towards the centre’s construction costs. Harden Shire Council is looking across Australia – and the world – for qualified people to staff the Kruger Health and Wellness Complex. Harden Shire Mayor Cr Philip Hockney says the centre has been designed to accommodate a range of health professionals including doctors, dentists, physiotherapists, clinical psychologists, exercise scientists, nurses, dieticians and massage therapists, as well as administrative staff. "We’ve built a complex that has everything,”
Facilities at the Kruger Health and Wellness Complex include: Including a separate rehabilitation centre with a high-tech hydrotherapy pool imported from the United States. The Council has also established a partnership with the University of Wollongong’s Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences. The partnership will give the centre’s doctors access to a variety of health support services while helping to train the next generation of medical professionals. Enquiries relating to the centre should be directed to Harden Shire Council.
