Shire Villages

The Harden Shire lies in the centre of a region in New South Wales, strong in agriculture, viticulture, and many thriving businesses. The twin town of Harden Murrumburrah lie in the centre of the Shire, and the Villages of Wombat, Jugiong and Galong are all within a half hour drive.


The village of Wombat is situated 20 km North-West of Harden. Wombat is renowned for its cherry and fruit production, the annual Australia Day Tractor Pull and markets and the annual Bikers Rally.

Galong Village is situated 21 kilometres East of Harden and is the centre of a historical area which is home to St. Clement's Monastery, and its' historic cemetery. 

Galong is known for its' agricultural production - whether it be stock or grain. Galong is a stunning representation of the Harden Shire.


Jugiong is located 37 kilometres South of Harden, along the picturesque Murrumbidgee River.

With excellent river access and the desire to fish our main waterways Jugiong is a perfect place for the weekend.  Jugiong has excellent sporting facilities including a swimming pool, showground and equestrian facilities. Jugiong is mostly well known for is breathtaking views, old world charm, and thriving retail precinct.


Kingsvale is the production centre of the stone fruit industry within the Shire. During Spring, the countryside is alive with the blossoms of the many varieties of fruit trees.

Many properties offer produce from their orchards, and a visit to the various orchards and vineyards is a delight to our many regular tourists.
